Delivered by the European Association of Certified Turnaround Professionals (EACTP), in partnership with TMA Europe, TMA Global and Leiden University, this is the only European-wide accreditation programme and is recognised as the gold standard for turnaround professionals.

Undertaking this course, and attaining Certified Turnaround Analyst (CTA) accreditation, is an essential first step in your journey to becoming a fully accredited Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and member of the EACTP.

On completion of this programme, you’ll walk away with:

The exams are also taken online and you can book these at a time to suit you and your work schedule.

CTA Course Curriculum

Over the duration of the Certified Turnaround Analyst Online Learning Programme, you’ll work your way through three modules, each of which focuses on a different pillar of competency. Each module – called a Body of Knowledge (BOK) – has been developed by experienced TMA Global and EACTP professionals, European restructuring lawyers and Leiden University academic staff.

Module 1: Accounting & Finance

Module 2: Legal Principles

Module 3: Management

The study programme is self-managed with an exam at the end of each module. Applicants are required to complete all three online examinations within a two-year window that starts upon registration for the first module in the series, Accounting & Finance.

On passing the three exams, and completing an application process, you will become a Certified Turnaround Analyst (CTA), member of the EACTP and will receive an official certificate from the EACTP and Leiden University.

With Certified Turnaround Analyst (CTA) accreditation, you will then be able to advance to full Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) accreditation status.

What does CTP mean to you?

Maria Pombo

“Turnaround is about taking the right action within a very short time period. The CTA programme helps you connect the dots and makes you aware of the key elements that you need to focus on for what matters most.”

George Kondylis - Turnaround

“Every journey, even the longest one, starts with a first step. Without this step, no accomplishment can be expected. A career in Turnaround can be extremely self-rewarding but also considerably demanding. The CTA programme helps you to cope with the demanding part.”

George Kondylis

Partner – Veltis Consultants Ltd, London, UK

Eugen Lascu

“The certification has had a significant impact on my career as a turnaround professional. In addition to the knowledge and skills I learnt on the course, since joining the EACTP community I have built up an invaluable network of turnaround professionals all over Europe.”

Eugen Lascu

Managing Partner - Thepesia Corporate Advisory, Bucharest, Romania

Alan Tilley

“Eight years ago, with more than 25 years’ experience working in the turnaround profession, 20 years in corporate management and 11 in accounting, I decided to underline my professional leadership credentials by becoming a CTP and by being a founding director of the EACTP. The last eight years have been the most satisfying in my career.

My advice to anyone considering the CTA course would be to do it. Not only will it give you the academic knowledge to handle turnarounds, but you will learn from the experience of practicing CTPs and real-life landmark cases.”

Alan Tilley

Chairman - BM&T, London, UK

“In a competitive industry, the CTP accreditation provides important recognition of skills and experience.

Becoming a CTP has not only given me the recognition my 20+ years working in turnarounds deserves but has also given me access to a European-wide professional network I would otherwise have struggled to connect with.”

Alberto Cerini

Managing Director – Studio Temporary Manager, Verona, Italy
